Pub at the End of the Universe needs your help, They are in financial trouble, and will be losing their property Dec 21 2012, and may be forced out of business very soon. The owner Patricia McCormick has had some serious health issue and has not been able to keep up with the mortgage, on top of that the note is due now and the banks don’t want to qualify the Pub for a new loan to pay off this loan.

This established business for over 30 years should have no problem refinancing or getting an equity loan, but due to the economical crises that were facing with today their are not of whole lot options for small business struggling to survive. We are asking our community, family and friends (PUB LOVE) to get involved supporting and contributing your ideas and or solutions towards a new vision for the Pub at the End of the Universe and allowing the Universe to manifest its intentions as it always does. Be apart of our grass-root campaign to spread the awareness of the Pub’s situation and help gather community to support this local business. There will be a series benefit concerts to put together to help fund the Pub and ease this transition.

Measure 80 [Oregon Cannabis Tax Act 2012] Fundraiser @ Plews Brews

The Oregon Cannabis Tax Act 2012 is a citizen’s initiative campaign to regulate cannabis and restore industrial hemp. Our goal is to protect Oregon’s children and increase public safety by creating a series of regulations around the growth and sale of cannabis and industrial hemp. Just as ending alcohol prohibition and regulating that market has protected society, regulating cannabis will help keep cannabis away from children and ensure marijuana is only sold to adults over the age of 21.

Currently the state of Oregon spends $61.5 million in law enforcement, corrections, and judicial costs, just on the enforcement of cannabis related incidents. Not only would this Act eliminate most of those costs, it would generate over $140 million a YEAR by taxing commercial cannabis sales to adults.

The Oregon Cannabis Tax Act will restore the hemp industry. Hemp, made from the seeds and stems of the cannabis plant, can be used for food products, clothing, fuel, paper and more. This Act will continue Oregon’s legacy as a sustainability leader and create green jobs in a time when our economy is still struggling.

90% of the proceeds will go into the state general fund, 7% for drug treatment programs, 1% each for drug education in public schools, and two new state commissions to promote
hemp biofuel and hemp fiber and food.

Coming off our fun filled performance at Hempstalk, and with the vote for Measure 80 right around the corner, Patchwork Family Band is ready to do our part to help spread awareness and end the prohibition of hemp and cannabis. Patchwork Family Meets Schwilly Family!

Thank you to Donny Chong and Carlos for coming to our show at the Buffalo Gap Saloon on July 6! They are on the Schwilly Family American Roadtrip, setting out to change the world one attitude at a time by promoting local music and up-and-coming bands through their website and podcast.
